Watermelon pics

As you can see, he ate everything. I'd thought that it wasn't going to be a good idea but he loved it. His piece came straight from the fridge and it must've felt good against his gums. The only thing he didn't eat was the rind, I had to take that away from him or it would've been eaten too. He's getting the hang of this feeding thing.

It was messy, sticky, and I had to clean my floor afterwards but it was so good to see him go at it. He didn't have any kind of trouble eating this at all.

Watermelon and chicken tenders

is what we tried this holiday weekend. He loved him that watermelon though, got terribly mad at me when it was over. Will post pics later. I'll have to remember to buy watermelon again since I'm now outnumbered in the watermelon lovin'/hatin' department.

I can't help it, it's a big messy taste like nothing fruit. It's a total waste of time.

bread and butter

Last night was pretty hectic and I ended up going to the super right after work. There I bought a roasted chicken and some italian bread to go with it for dinner. When we got home, I set Duckie up in his high chair and gave him a piece of bread. This was the first time that he ate bread and that boy tore into it like it was going out of style. I initially gave him a piece of the innards of the bread and since he ate that pretty quickly I just tore a larger piece that had the crust. That boy went to town on it.

After he gummed that to death, I gave him a small piece of buttered bread and he loved it as well. And I didn't give him small pieces of bread either, I gave him large chunks of bread and he ate about 85% of it. 10% he dropped on the ground and the other 5% was stuck to the side of the chair. He let me know when he was finished and wanted out by complaining.

All in all, I can safely say that bread was a hit and it will definitely be on the menu again.

This week in feeding

On Sunday we ended up going to the pool with the peeps after church and Duckie had more broccoli and carrot sticks. I let him have a piece of my avocado since he has to get used to the taste. Again, The Kid kept stealing Duckie's food off of his tray. It was pretty uneventful with the exception that Duckie kept imitating bibi as she ate blueberries. It was funny though, she was eating the berries and he was making smacking and chewing motions right alongside her. I had my thinking cap on and didn't let him have any. I did put some Kix in his tray so that he could work on his pincer grip. Kix taste like cardboard so it was purely for the grip purpose and not for the nutrient value that I gave it to him.

I did share with some of the ladies there what I was doing and they were all shocked like. Doesn't surprise me, I rather like shocking them. You should've seen their faces when they first saw duckie sporting babylegs, they thought that he'd burned his legs or something and was wearing bandages. Duckie was sporting his green chunky monkey diaper with his name and this on the back. He was quite the stylish baby, looking much cuter than the other children running around in their sposible dipes. But I'm biased :)
